Of all his books, my favorite is Alternities, the most original multiple-universe novel I have read in my 58 years (minus the first 10) reading SF. Mike's strong suit is characterization Although I am always fascinated by how well he wields scientific & tech knowledge on behalf of his stories (and I'm a picky prick when it comes to inaccuracies), it is the people I either fall in love with or hate with a passion (as he intends). Alternities has the politican thriller aspects of the best Tom Clancy, the tech to keep a geek itching for more and characters you care for and about. Satisfying all around. You can find it on Amazon, it may be out of print elsewhere.

Hey Paul,

Thanks for the suggestion, and yep, I've read The Quiet Pools as well. The site is new so I'm still putting up new reviews & summaries of my favorite science fiction.

Right now I'm in the process of re-reading the Trigon Disunity Trilogy, and I'm sure I'll get back to re-reading (and in turn reviewing) The Quiet Pools.

Thanks again for visiting!
